Have you considered answering the call to help serve the poor by joining the Society of
St. Vincent de Paul to:
have ears to hear the "cries of the poor",
have eyes to "seek and find the forgotton, the suffering or the deprived",
have hearts that "bring God's love to the poor" through their generosity and donations.
By being a member of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, you become a sign of God's love to those who are suffering and giving them reason to believe and to trust.
In the Fall of 2012, St. Vincent de Paul established a Conference that included St. John the Baptist in Waunakee and St. Mary of the Lake in Westport. We were unsure of the need for a Conference since there are other "Safety Nets" in place, but we quickly learned that there was a definite need. We also serve Windsor and DeForest and with the growth in the past few years, we have also seen a growth in the need for assistance in that area.
We, like the Apostles, walk 2 by 2 to meet and serve those in need. Won't you come and walk with us? We meet on the 2nd Monday of each month at 6:00pm in the St. John the Baptist Gathering Room. For more information call Ed Drinkwine at 608-849-7508 or Theresa Alt at 608-849-4026.
