CHURCH/SCHOOL ROOF ($1M)
The roof for the church and school is leaking in many places. The leaking has caused water damage and puts the church's assets at risk. The top priority of the campaign is to do a full replacement of the roof to a low slope roof, which is engineered to channel water away from the roof to the drains and downspouts.

• Why didn't St. Jerome choose to install a pitched roof? The cost of a pitched roof is estimated to be three times the cost of a low slope roof. After our feasibility study was completed, it was determined St. Jerome's would not be able to raise the necessary funds for a pitched roof.
• Why is the roof estimated to cost $1M? The existing roof will need to be removed to meet commercial building code requirements. The original estimated cost was $630,000. Since the bid process was completed, the cost of construction has increased by 25-30%. We are setting aside additional funds for unexpected costs associated with many years of leaking; such as deteriorated wood and/or mold remediation.

PARKING LOT ($250K)
The parking lot is in poor shape and in some areas is unsafe for people and vehicles. Some areas will need to receive a new base layer. Other areas will only need to be replaced with a blacktop surface.

• What is being repaired/replaced in the parking lot? The existing parking lot surface is hazardous for our parish members and visitors due to it's uneven and crumbling blacktop. The existing blacktop will be removed and additional gravel will be added and compacted. If it is determined there are any soft or unstable areas, new base will be installed. Some areas of our parking lot already had the base replaced.

CARPORT/BELL TOWER ($250K)
The current parish bell tower structure has served its purpose and needs to be replaced due to structural deterioration. The goal is to rebuild the bell tower and create a carport over the main church entrance, thus improving the overal facade. The hope is to create an entrance which proclaims to the world, and reminds us, that this is where God dwells and we come to encounter and worship Him.

• What is the design process for the Bell Tower and Carport? We are researching architects to assist in the design of the bell tower and carport. Our vision is to create a structure that identifies our Catholic faith, invites our Catholic family and welcomes community members to our place of worship.​​​​​​​
